Another Day
Yesterday was just another boring day of work with no real answers about my job security. I could easily be unemployed very shortly. But what can you do when no one wants to tell you the specifics about the budget? On a different note...I did see the movie Troy last night. Despite the critics reviews, it was a good movie. Some liberties were taken so it did not match the exact story. But it is a good representation of Homer's Iliad. I would recommend seeing it. And if anyone has questions about Greek mythology, feel free to ask.

What a Year!!!
This has not been a good year for my poor mother. First she was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in February. Recently she was told she had high cholesterol. Then tonight was not good. I took her out for her walk after dinner. As we were coming back, our neighbor was out with his dog. The dog was prancing and acting real friendly. My mom asked if she could pet the dog. She was told she could. As soon as she went to touch the dog, the dog leapt up and attacked. It bit my mom's arm and face and scratched her pretty badly. The owner pulled the dog away. My dad just pulled up behind us in his car, and we jumped in and went straight to the hospital. My mom is scared out of her mind because she doesn't know how the meds and tetanus shot will react with her heart drugs. So I'm asking that everyone keeps praying for her and her health. May be the rest of the year will get better.

End of the Semester
Let me congratulate all the graduates of Messiah College this weekend. It was a great time. I totally agree with what Jimmy has placed on his blog about this weekend. Let me just say Vikki's family is nuts, but in a good way. They all rat each other out about everything. But I guess that is just the Yankee way.

After leaving the festivities, I had to return home late Saturday to study and fix a paper. Let me tell you what fun that was!! Weaving in and out of traffic while dozing off and doing my best to stay awake. Thankfully there were no cops out because I bet I looked like I was loaded. But the paper is finally done and my exam is tonight at 6. So now it is time relax and get everything ready for tonight.

Stupid...Stupid...Stupid!!!
Today was my first official day of exams. I think the one I had went pretty well. But that's not why I'm an idiot. I inadvertently plagiarized part of my paper. But I was given the opportunity to revise it for a full grade and to avoid any disciplinary action. I can't believe I did that. But it will be done and done right. Thank goodness for second chances!!!

More Changes
I'm finally up and blogging again. The MCATs are over and finals are almost done. So my life is not as consumed by studying. But my job situation is now changing. I have been working on a biosensor to detect TNT in seawater. But since there are budget problems I may be losing that job. Never fear, I am now in talks with another guy for a sensor to detect controlled substances. That's right, I will legally be working with illegal drugs. And no I cannot get anyone samples!! And since my job is changing, I changed my blog. Don't worry, the drink of the week will return.

This is why America needs health care reform!!!
